Quench Privacy Policy

Quench is a water reminder and hydration tracker app for Android (package com.salazardevs.quench). To keep your hydration history backed up and synced across your devices, a small amount of data is stored securely in the cloud under an anonymous account created automatically for you. We do not require your name, email, or phone number to use the app, and we keep data collection to the minimum needed to run it. This policy explains exactly what we handle and why.

1. Information we collect

To provide cloud backup, reminders, and sync, Quench stores the following:

Anonymous account identifier — created automatically on first launch so your data can be backed up and synced. By default it does NOT include your name, email, or phone number.
Your hydration data — drink entries (amount, drink type, and time), your daily water goal, your cups and drink presets, reminder schedule, and unit and app preferences.
Optional profile inputs — values you choose to enter to personalize your goal, such as weight, gender, activity level, or wake/sleep times. These are used only to calculate your hydration target.
Subscription and purchase information — if you subscribe to Quench Premium, your subscription status and a purchase identifier (handled by Google Play Billing and RevenueCat).
Basic technical data — standard device and app information used to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the service.

Quench does not collect precise location, contacts, photos, or health data from other apps. All hydration entries are logged manually by you.

2. How we use your information

To store, back up, and sync your drink logs, goals, and settings across your devices
To schedule and deliver the water reminders you enable
To calculate a personalized daily hydration goal from any profile inputs you provide
To provide, restore, and manage premium subscriptions
To maintain, secure, and improve the app

We do NOT sell your personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

3. Notifications

Quench uses local device notifications to remind you to drink water at the times you choose. You can turn reminders on or off inside the app, and you can disable notifications at any time from your device's system settings.

4. Service providers

We use trusted third parties to operate Quench. They process data only on our behalf:

Supabase — secure cloud hosting and authentication for your account and hydration data (https://supabase.com/privacy)
RevenueCat — subscription management and purchase validation (https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy)
Google Play Billing — payment processing for subscriptions (https://policies.google.com/privacy)

5. Data retention and deletion

We keep your data while your account is active. Because your account is anonymous, all of your data is tied to the anonymous identifier on your device.

On-device: uninstalling the app removes the local copy of your data and the local session.
In the cloud: you can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time by emailing us at the address below.

6. Children's privacy

Quench is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.

7. Security

Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
Account and hydration data is stored with our service providers using industry-standard safeguards and per-user access controls
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure

8. Your rights

Access: open the app to view your own data at any time
Deletion: request full account deletion by email (see Contact)
Subscription cancellation: Google Play Store → Subscriptions → Quench → Cancel

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Material changes will be reflected by the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, through the app or the Google Play listing.
